We make external doors of all styles and types, in hardwood or painted, and ranging from a simple back door to an intricate 17th century 'linenfold' design. For those requiring a very sunbstantial door we will often use three inch thick oak. But whether simple or complicated, the same attention to design and construction is standard.
While our exterior doors will often simulate the 'double planked' construction of the 16th and 17th centuries (vertical planking to the front, horizontal planking to the back, all pegged or nailed together), they can be made with external frames that allow modern high security mortice locks to work and prevent the door from warping. In addition the doors can be fitted with 21st century draught proofing seals.
