With many period houses having lost their original staircases, we are regularly employed to design and make replacements that are authentic in construction and appearance. Where a client wants the new staircase to be as close in appearance to the original as possible we will use 17th century floorboards to make the treads and risers. The design of stairs, newels and balustrading will depend on the scale and age of the house as well as the taste of the client.
